Toybox Command Info
This guide focuses on planning tower placement, upgrade priorities and wave economy on procedural maps.
What is the Goal of the Game?
Toybox Command is a toy tower defense game set on a tabletop diorama! Enemy toy soldiers, tanks, planes and zeppelins march along the road toward your base. Drag toy soldiers from the bottom bar onto the battlefield, upgrade them, and stop every wave before your lives run out. Each level generates a brand-new map — how far can you go?
Game Controls
Everything works with mouse or touch:
- Place a tower: Drag a card from the bottom bar onto an empty slot.
- Tower menu: Click a placed tower to upgrade (⬆), promote (🎖️) or sell (💰) it.
- Abilities: Use airstrike, freeze and bonus gold from the right side of the bar (they have cooldowns).
- Waves: Waves start automatically, or start them early for a gold bonus.
Key Strategies
- Mix your towers: Riflemen for cheap coverage, mortars for groups, anti-air for planes — no single tower stops everything.
- Protect veterans: Towers rank up with their own kills and gain critical hits. Place them where they can keep scoring.
- Spend stars wisely: Medals earn stars for the Skill Tree — permanent upgrades that carry over to every new level.
- Watch the wave preview: It shows what is coming next, so you can prepare the right defenses.
Game Features
- Endless procedural levels: every map is unique, across five biomes (meadow, desert, snow, autumn, wasteland)
- 9 unlockable towers plus airstrike, freeze and gold abilities
- 10 enemy types including tanks, planes, zeppelins, medics, sappers and bosses
- Veterancy system: towers earn ranks (Private → Corporal → Sergeant → Lieutenant) with critical hits and double shots
- Medals, stars and a permanent Skill Tree
- Global online leaderboard: compete for top scores with players worldwide
- Three difficulty levels, saved progress and a procedural toy-march soundtrack
Tips and Tricks
- Start waves early when you feel safe — the gold bonus compounds over a long level.
- Sell and reposition towers when the map's road takes an unexpected shape.
- Freeze is strongest against fast runners and boss pushes; save it for emergencies.
- Promotions beat raw upgrades on towers that already get many kills — 'the level grows the weapon, the promotion masters the soldier'.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is Toybox Command free?
Yes, it is completely free and runs in your browser on desktop and mobile — no download or registration needed.
How many levels are there?
The game is endless: every level generates a brand-new map with a different road layout, cycling through five biomes, and the difficulty keeps scaling.
What is the difference between upgrading and promoting?
Upgrading costs gold and raises raw power. Promotion is earned by the tower's own kills and grants ranks with critical hit chance and, at the top rank, a chance for double shots.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Your best level, difficulty, stars, medals and skill tree purchases are stored on your device, so you can continue where you left off.
Can I play with touch controls?
Yes. On phones and tablets simply drag tower cards from the bottom bar onto the battlefield and tap towers to open their menu.
