This guide covers braking points, sector times and building a clean lap against the ghost car on the harbour circuit.

What is the Goal of the Game?

Port Azur is a fictional harbour street circuit: a tight 3.3 km lap that climbs away from the water, crosses a square at the top of the hill, drops through a hairpin, dives into a tunnel and chicanes back onto the quay. You drive it from inside your helmet, at the wheel of a single-seater. In Feature Race you take the P4 grid slot and fight seven AI rivals for the best finishing position you can get. In Time Trial you chase a ghost car of your own best lap. In Overtake Challenge you pass as many cars as possible before the clock runs out. The walls are never more than a couple of metres away — Port Azur does not forgive.

How to Play?

Pick a mode and lap count in the menu, then hit LIGHTS OUT and wait for the five red lights to go out. Throttle is W or Up, brake and reverse are S or Down, and you steer with A/D or the left and right arrows. The gearbox starts in automatic — shifting up with Shift or down with Ctrl switches it to manual, and M puts it back. Handbrake is Space. Press C to cycle cameras (helmet, T-cam, chase, TV), R to get back on track if you bury it in a barrier, G for the ghost car, H for the HUD, and P or ESC to pause. Steering lock falls away with speed: at 300 km/h you only get a few degrees, exactly as in the real thing.

Game Features

  • Helmet camera: halo, steering wheel, mirrors and gloved hands ride with the chassis while your head floats inside them under G-loading
  • Pacejka-style tyre model with load transfer, aerodynamic downforce, a friction ellipse, an 8-speed gearbox and DRS
  • Three modes: Feature Race with an eight-car lights-out grid, Time Trial and Overtake Challenge
  • Live standings, three-sector lap timing and a running delta to your best lap
  • Ghost car replaying your personal best, stored in your browser
  • Tunnel dark adaptation — exposure opens slowly going in and snaps shut coming out
  • Synthesised V6 turbo-hybrid engine, pneumatic shifts, tyre squeal and tunnel reverb
  • Titanium sparks off the floor, tyre smoke and rubber laid down on the road
  • Global leaderboard, pause menu and gamepad support

Tips and Strategies

  • Brake in a straight line, then turn. Downforce grip climbs with the square of speed, so there is very little of it at hairpin pace — trail-braking into the Lantern hairpin will just push you into the wall.
  • Short-shift out of the slow corners. Wheelspin costs more time than a lower rev limit does.
  • Use the delta readout, not the lap time. It tells you where you are losing time while you are still in the lap.
  • Do not fight the barrier. If you touch a wall, steer away from it and stay on the throttle — the car peels off far quicker than it does if you panic-brake.
  • The tunnel is flat. Your eyes take a second to adapt at the entry, so commit before the light changes rather than after.
  • In Overtake Challenge every pass buys five seconds, so a risky move that works is almost always worth more than a safe lap.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is Port Azur 3D free to play?

Yes, completely free! It runs directly in your browser with no downloads, no installation and no sign-up.

How do you drive the car?

W or Up is the throttle, S or Down is the brake and reverse, and A/D or the arrow keys steer. The gearbox is automatic by default; Shift and Ctrl shift manually and M switches back. A gamepad works too.

What are the three game modes?

Feature Race puts you on an eight-car grid against seven AI rivals over three or five laps. Time Trial is solo practice against a ghost car of your best lap. Overtake Challenge is a timed traffic chase that adds five seconds for every car you pass.

Is Port Azur a real circuit?

No. Port Azur is an invented harbour street circuit, and every driver, team and livery in the game is fictional. Nothing in it depicts a real championship, event or competitor.

Is my score saved to a leaderboard?

Yes. Your best lap and its ghost car are stored on your device, and with a nickname your race score is submitted to the global Derin Games leaderboard.
